About
Rojita Buddhacharya is a recipient of the UK’s prestigious Bell Burnell Graduate Scholarship Fund and a second-year PhD student at the Astrophysics Research Institute, Liverpool John Moores University, where she researches star formation environments in the Milky Way’s Central Molecular Zone under the supervision of Dr. Jonathan Henshaw, Prof. Dr. Steve Longmore, and Dr. Daniel Walker. As an SAO pre-doctoral fellow, she will be working with Prof. Dr. Qizhou Zhang. Originally from Nepal, Rojita combines her passion for astrophysics with extensive experience in science communication and outreach. She has been actively involved with the Pokhara Astronomical Society, leading initiatives to bring astronomy education to remote schools across Nepal. A former journalist with over 14 years of experience, she is also an accomplished mountaineer and led the first women journalists' Everest expedition in 2018.
