About

Becca Kim is a Gift Officer and Program Director for the Smithsonian National Astronomy Council (SNAC). SNAC is a patrons program at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, which brings together astronomy enthusiasts from across the country to strengthen the Observatory’s work in advancing science, opening STEM pathways, exploring distant worlds, and decoding the origins of galaxies, stars, and planets. Becca works with SNAC members to amplify the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory’s national presence and inspire support among their network and peers.

Over the past seven years, Becca has built a fundraising-focused career at the Smithsonian, supporting advancement efforts for the National Museum of Asian Art and most recently, the National Portrait Gallery. As the Commission Liaison at the National Portrait Gallery, Becca worked directly with the Board of Commissioners to increase engagement and giving, and drive Commissioner involvement in the Portrait Gallery’s strategic priorities. Prior to joining the Smithsonian, Becca worked at Gartner, a leading research and advisory firm, as a Business Development Manager.

Becca holds a BA in Public Policy & Leadership and Art History from the University of Virginia.
