Qindan Zhu
About
Qindan is the group leader of the Air Pollution–Climate Lab at SAO, starting from September 2025. Prior to this, she was the MIT Houghton Postdoctoral Fellow and a NOAA Climate & Global Change Postdoctoral Fellow, working with Arlene Fiore at MIT. She received her bachelor’s degree with dual majors in Environmental Science and Mathematics from Peking University in 2017 and completed her PhD in Earth and Planetary Science at the University of California, Berkeley, where she worked with Ron Cohen. Her research integrates satellite observations of air pollutants, airborne flux measurements, and regional-to-global scale modeling to investigate ozone and OH chemistry. A central focus of her work is synthesizing machine learning, models, and observations to advance understanding of the interactions between air quality and climate change.
